Eliminate Toxins in a safe and reasonable way.

What are toxins? Toxins are any chemical, biological, or radiological substance that is harmful to the body. You can find these substances in the environment and can also come from within us. This blog post will talk about six natural ways to detox your body with safe methods you may not have considered before!

Eliminate Toxins in Your Body

Hydrate More

Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Aim for at least eight glasses per day.

If you are exercising, in a hot climate or have instructions from your doctor then adjust accordingly.

Drink water…

  1. before every meal, snack, and other beverage.
  2. when you wake up.
  3. before and after your workouts.
  4. after every trip to the bathroom.
  5. every time you enter your office or your home.

Limit Alcohol Intake

One of the best ways to detox is to limit your alcohol intake. The liver can only process one drink in an hour, so it’s not a good idea to have more than that. On the other hand, if you’ve been drinking every day or feel like you’re on autopilot when it comes to alcohol consumption, cut back for three days immediately and see the difference.

If you’re going out with friends or coworkers on a Friday night, skip the mixed drinks and stick to one or two beers. If you have an event to attend and want a little something, sip on sparkling water with lemon instead of wine or champagne. The liver is the body’s filtration system for removing toxins that build up in your bloodstream from the food you eat and alcohol that you drink, as well as medications and environmental pollutants.

Embrace a Juice Fast or Feast

A juice fast is a detox that can be very beneficial for the body. In this case, you’ll need to drink only pure fruit and vegetable juices as your primary source of food for a certain period of time.  Consuming these types of liquids will help flush toxins from your system. There are many ways to do this. One common way to begin your first fast is with a quick 24 hour fast. From there you can usually safely increase your fast (or feast) to 3 days, 5 days, or more.

Reduce Fat and Processed Sugar Intake

The body creates some toxins because of digestion. Others come from processed foods, soil, air pollution, and products you use daily such as cosmetics. If you want to reduce your toxin intake, opt for unprocessed food options that do not contain fat or sugar when possible. Avoiding processed foods is the best way to lower your toxin intake.

Consume Foods Rich in Antioxidants

Antioxidants neutralize free radicals in the body and help to reduce inflammation. They also eliminate toxins because they can break down heavy metals, such as mercury found in dental fillings, and other pollutants like cigarette smoke which causes respiratory problems. People at a higher risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease should be mindful of their intake and make sure they are consuming enough antioxidants.

Reduce Salt Intake

Why do we need to reduce our salt intake? The answer is two-fold: first, excess sodium causes an imbalance in fluids. Second, too much salt can cause hypertension or high blood pressure. High levels of both are a recipe for disaster as they increase the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

  1. It’s amazing how much better you feel instantly when you get rid of processed foods. It’s also amazing how fast you feel sluggish if you eat processed foods after you’ve been eating clean for a bit.

  2. I badly need this. I always want to try Juice fasting but I just don’t know how to start and which detox juice is right for me. I came across an article before where it lists down all the cleanse juice you can make by mixing certain fruits and vegetables. Maybe i should research more about that so i can engage myself on cleanse juice diet soon

  3. These are fantastic tips. So many people are all about doing detoxes, but what if we just never put those toxins into our bodies in the first place?

    1. That would be the best but avoiding toxins completely is very difficult. However, if we were very careful and limited toxins then I believe our bodies could do a great job on the detox.

All great tips for living a healthier lifestyle. Every little bit helps. Juicing is one of my favorite ways to add vegetables to my diet.

  5. THIS!!!!! Love this article! Our family has been making the shift back to basic whole foods. Over the summer I allowed my daughter to freely eat what she wanted. What I noticed.. her mood changed. She had no desire to get out and exercise. Since I cut her back.. Her energy is back. We have had some great conversations about eating and how it affects our bodies.
