Dealing With Your Big Overwhelming Feelings

Big feelings can often be overwhelming. There is always a sense of not being able to handle them, of wanting to run away and hide from them, and so much more. But, the thing about these feelings is that if you do not deal with them, they are only going to grow and become more of an issue later down the line. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the things that you can do in order to deal with those big feelings you might be experiencing.

Take Some Time For Yourself

The first thing that we recommend is that you take some time for yourself. When things start to get too much, you are allowed to excuse yourself from everything around you while you compose yourself and take some time. This will give you some time away from the things that are causing you to feel negative emotions, and help you figure out what you want to do about them.

Taking some time for yourself might not feel easy, especially when you have responsibilities. For example, if you need to work or if you have kids to look after, it can be difficult to find time. But, if you tell someone who is in a position to help you, you will be able to take the time that you need.

Find A Way To Keep Calm

Another thing that you should do is find a way to keep calm when you start to feel anxious. It’s tough, but there are many different things that you can try. For example, you can use essential oils that are supposed to make you feel better, or you can try drinking calming teas. You can even get a hobby that will take your mind off of things for a little while. Gardening and growing things is a great way to go with this because it requires your attention and commitment which means you won’t have time to focus on the other things while you are gardening. You can even look into going to a marijuana seed bank if this is a plant you would like to grow.

Understand The Feeling, Move Forward

The final thing that we are going to say is that you need to learn to understand the feeling and move forward. There is no use in taking steps backwards, so you need to focus on putting one foot in front of another, acknowledging how you are feeling and then dealing with it so that you can move on.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the things that you can do in order to deal with big feelings. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to do, we know that, but it doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to sort out. You just need to take a step back, and think carefully about what the next steps are. We wish you the very best of luck with this, and encourage you to seek professional help if things get worse.
