Veestro Home Delivered Vegan Food

The Veestro promise.

Healthy, delicious food delivered to my home that needs little prep and is satisfying.

Does Veestro deliver on this promise?

veestro

To find out I went directly to the source (or more accurately, they came to me to ask for an honest review). I was awarded a prepaid shopping cart that was filled with promising choices. These included a Three Layer Scramble, Red Curry with Tofu and Vegetables, Eggplant Casserole and Veggie Empanadas.  I love that Veestro provides various ordering options. I can choose all of my own meals or do completely done for you 21-day plans. They even have juice cleanses.

My order has been placed before Friday and will ship via FedEx on Monday. The Veestro Headquarters are located in California.

I should receive my goodies very quickly.

My “gourmet experience”  is expected to arrive during a week that is especially busy for me. I am looking forward to having some family-pleasing meals ready to go.  The family is a bit skeptical. This is especially true since I am not a fan of frozen food and these do arrive frozen. The thing is there is a big difference in the supermarket (insert brand name) frozen food and what Veestro promises.

The Veestro Chef, Jose Aramayo, prides himself in offering all-natural, preservative-free food that is free of GMO’s. This is already a huge step above the frozen aisle where you will find boxes with ingredients that are unrecognizable and full of chemicals.  For this reason, my food can be kept in the refrigerator for a maximum of two weeks, or in the freezer for a maximum of 8 weeks.

So on to the food, as that is what you really want to read about.

My Veestro Breakfast Options included Oatmeal Breakfast Pie, Three Layer Scramble and Savory Croquettes with Veggie Hash.

The Oatmeal was tasty, but I  fell in love with the Three Layer Scramble. I did choose to serve this with some sliced tomatoes, 1/4 of an avocado and hot sauce, as I do like things spicy. Savory Croquettes with Veggie Hash surprised me. I really liked it and found it to be very satisfying. I did make a mistake with this one as I thought it was a lunch item. But that is the beauty of life and healthy food. You really do not have to eat breakfast at breakfast time, and you totally can eat dinner food at breakfast too.

Most meals come packaged similarly to this. The croquettes were very deceiving.  It does not look like much food but is very filling.

Lunch and Dinner Options fall under the “entree” section of the website. There are many delicious items to choose from including very kid-friendly options such as Chick’n Nuggets with Chipotle Dip and multiple pizza options. Gluten-free is also an option with Veestro!

Among my favorites was Eggplant Casserole, Risotto with Butternut Squash and Kale and Red Curry with Tofu and Vegetables. What surprised me the most was that the vegetables were crisp. They are often so mushy in frozen foods. The rice was also delicious and tasted fresh. I live in an Asian household so fresh tasting rice is VERY important.

Veestro also offers dessert. I tried the Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies.  This was lovely with a cup of hot tea.  I look forward to trying the Cheezcake. I think that  I will go with the Marble or maybe the Raspberry.

I am very impressed with Veestro and will be placing another order for myself. As well, I will confidently recommend to clients who need to have some quick food on hand. These meals would even be great for bringing to the office. Veestro is a much healthier option than the local fast food joint.

I will include a Breakfast Burrito, Mediterranean Skillet and Lentil Meatloaf on my next order.  Additional options such as Veggie Pesto PizzaKale and Quinoa Salad and Moroccan Mélange are of interest to me too.

How about you? Does this sound as if it is something that you may want to try?

If you would like to place an order with Veestro then use the special discount code, NATURALHEALTH20, for a 20% off discount!

In answer to the question of whether, or not, Veestro delivers on their promise, as far as I am concerned they most definitely do! Check them out and share your foodie pics with me 😀

  1. Hi Dr. Elise Cohen Ho,
You write really very well, thanks for the information.
Keep writing such informative, I am a big fan of your blog.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Elise

That sounds a great service – wish it was available in the UK.

I just finished trying a food-delivery service (although not vegan) in the UK. I enjoyed it very much.

I stopped it while I went on holiday but didn’t restart it on my return because the food took forever to prepare and there was so much of it I was sure I’d be piling on the weight. May try a similar service again someday because I did like the principle.

  3. Hi Dr. Elise Cohen Ho,
Very well written article, thanks for the information and keep writing such amazing articles.
I am great fan of your blog, thanks.

  4. Nice review, Elise.

Lots of people do the “pick up” and “take home” dinners on a regular basis. I guess it’s just the busy, domestically disengaged world we live in today.

But this service looks like a real life-boat for those who don’t have time for healthy cooking, but desperately need (or want) it.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  5. Hi Elise,

Finally…good food that delivers! That is fantastic. Although I’m not a fan of frozen food either, I do purchase some organic ones because let’s face it, we cannot cook all the time!

I know how mindful you are about food and your review of this is wonderful. I will pass it on.

    1. Thank you, Donna. I am impressed by the company. I actually did place an order to try out a few more things and because it is nice to have some food on hand that is really simple and fast. Some nights you just need it. Especially now that the baby wants to join Disney again. This means that I need to build my freezer stock if I want to have a healthy eating family. I plan to have on hand some Veestro foods and some of my own prepare ahead creations.

  6. Hi Elise,

Interesting post. I do have to admit some of the things mentioned do sound very yummy but I will also admit I am picky to a certain extent. My daughter just ordered something similar to this and she loves it.

Thanks for the great review. I may get “brave” one of these days. Have a great day.

    1. Hi Monna. You are awesome. I just love that there are these types of things to help people out. As to the vegan, if someone is curious to try out vegan dining but does not know what to make this is a pretty interesting way to give it a try.

    Food glorious food!

I love food..would i ever go down the pre-packed route? I really don’t know. I know what I like..I know what I want when I want it.. I can see the advantages here if your living with lots of time restraints..we all know when your in a rush most people eat junk food.. usually unhealthy and a little fatty.. so to have something delivered to your door as part of a diet/ workout regime could go a long to way to helping some people..Give me a home made mac cheese any day of the week 🙂

    1. I love it, William. I would not go to prepackaged for every meal but I do like the idea of having some foods on hand. Thanks for your awesome feedback. My son has a very popular mac and cheese (non vegan and fully cheesy) recipe, if you need it.

  8. Erika Mohssen-Beyk

    Hi Elise,
this is a nice review and all the food
    looks really delicious .
Great for busy people ,to have a healthy choice..
Thank you for the information .
    Erika

    1. You are so very welcome. I was quite impressed. I do love for people to cook on their own as much as possible but the idea of having convenient and heaty food at your fingertips is so great for the busy days.
