4 Tips to Improve Your Sexual Health

As men and women get older, their libidos drop, and the desire for sex wanes. For the men, even when the desire is there, there is the real problem of erectile dysfunction.

For women, it could be a wide range of issues from vaginal dryness to menopausal symptoms and even sexual pain. This is why sexual health is very important as both sexes get along in age. If you’re looking for ways to make your sexual health better, the tips in this post will help you get started.

Treat Underlying Infections Promptly

Sometimes, poor sexual appetite or a reluctance to have sex may be the side effect of a particularly stubborn infection. This is particularly common among women. If you have any UTI, it is always best to tell your partner about it and get prompt treatment.

This way, you can easily nip the infection in the bud before it goes on to cause permanent damage to your organs. For instance, if a yeast infection is left untreated, it can spread to other organs in the body and even go on to affect your mood, cause stomach problems, and oral thrush.

Naturally, women who are dealing with these issues aren’t likely to have any sexual desire. So, deal with these conditions as quickly as possible.

Take Medications When Necessary

If you need to, pop a pill or two when you’re about to have sex with your partner. Just make sure that the prescription is filled by recognized healthcare professionals like Benecard PBF

When it comes to erectile dysfunction solutions, pills like Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra can be game-changers. Men can go on to have regular sexual relations without any worries about their erectile dysfunction.

There are also natural supplements like beetroot powders that can provide the nitric oxide that aids vasodilation in the male genitalia. For women who have naturally low sex drives, medications like Vyleesi and Addyi can help improve that. However, speak to your doctor first as they have side effects.

You May Also Have to Watch Your Meds

Sometimes, certain medications can cause a low sex drive. For example, antidepressants like Prozac and Paxil can inhibit sex drive.

Thankfully, women who are on these medications can opt for other equally effective antidepressants, but with none of the low sex drive side effects. A good example of this is Wellbutrin.

Choose the Right Hormone Therapy

Sometimes, low sex drives are usually caused by hormone imbalance in the body. For instance, men who suffer from low testosterone (LowT) typically have low sex drives. So, hormone therapies using synthetic testosterone can resolve that issue.

As for women, low estrogen can cause vaginal dryness or shrinking, both of which can make sex really uncomfortable. If you’re dealing with any of these, estrogen therapies recommended by your physician can quickly remedy the issue. Thankfully, there’s a wide range of solutions including gels, patches, sprays, and pills that can help normalize and balance the hormone levels in the body.

Remember to also make healthy lifestyle choices. Eat healthily, sleep well, exercise more (there’s a reason your libido is high when you exercise), and avoid consuming excess sugars, alcohol, and illicit drugs.
