Reflections & December Joy

As I reflect on November I also look forward to my own share of December Joy.

December Joy is usually plentiful and November did make me rather happy.

I had several goals for November including clarifying my message and batch blogging.

I have done a great deal of work on both. I am hopeful that the fruits of my labor will become apparent to all.

In November, we also had a beautiful Thanksgiving celebration with many of those that we love. There was also plenty of great food even though we simplified a bit this year. That was important to me as we always have so many leftovers and so much of it ends up in the trash. This year we had a reasonable amount of leftovers (proof that we had enough food) but the waste was minimal. I even made a beautiful soup from the leftover turkey (and carcass).

My favorite is still the cranberry relish and the sweet potato mash (I do not eat Turkey).

I hope that December will bring a joy-filled month for you.

On the work side of things, I am still quite focused on my November goals. I am also looking to make sure that my blogging calendar is filled up with December goodness.

There are two reasons for that.

I want you all to have fun things to read that will help you to have an amazing 2018.

My loved ones will all be here again. I am so excited.

Young Adventure Ho is off on another adventure but he will be home in a few days.

Mr. Science Ho will also be home, along with his girlfriend. I love seeing him so happy.

The Little Girl will get a terrific (ie long) break from school and many of her friends will be visiting us too.

My nephew (from New York) will also be coming this month.

I love having so much love in the house. It is so fun!

So that is about that. My clients are doing great, the family is wonderful and I am really focusing on what I want the future to look like as I continue to transition into a new era of life. Coaching, Writing, Mentoring, Speaking….these are all things I love. Now to make it all work together.

Please do tell me that you have planned for December in the comments below.

  1. I love all the positivity in this post! I would love to hear more about your coaching and speaking in 2018 as it’s something I’m interested in perusing myself in the future.

  2. Oh what a lovely heart warming post! I’m thoroughly loving December – everyone seems so friendly and caring, if a little frantic! We still have a couple of weeks of school and plenty of nativities to attend but then its all about family time & relaxing! Wishing you a very healthy and happy December x

  3. I can’t say I’ve heard of Cranberry Relish before, but it does sound interesting. Glad to hear all is well with your family and your clients. Sounds like you’ve got a great life and work balance. 🙂

  4. Such a positive post. I’m really excited about Christmas this year now I’ve gone through both my transplants and I’m recovering well. Hope you have a wonderful December.

  5. We love this time of year and even the build up to Christmas is filled with so much fun and seeing family and friends. We don’t eat turkey either and love the sound of that relish. Have a peaceful season x

  6. Hi Elise

A very sweet post! I love December because it is holiday time and time to meet friends. This December will be bit hectic as preparations for my brother’s wedding will be going on.

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. December is always fun as there are festivities and an anxious wait for welcoming the new year. This is a fun and cool read. There is so much that one can do with family and friends. Wish you a Happy Month and Year ahead. 🙂

  8. The best part of Christmas (next to the food) is having all the family and closest friends come for a visit, makes everything so much better. Here in the UK we don’t celebrate thanksgiving but I really wish we did! There should be a special occassion every month so we can feast and be merry all year!

  9. It looks like you have a lot of exciting things planned this December. I hope you have a lovely festive time with your loved ones.

  10. Hi Elise,

I love December because it is a great time to connect with family and friends. My fiscal year is 11 months and ends in November. I like to keep the month of December with a light work load. Its my time to kick back and enjoy my family. Because everyone is scattered all over the map, I like to take trips and visit my loved ones. One by one, I’m taking a few days to do so. Then there are the family members coming to my house and I like to create time for cooking festive meals for them.

This year my December will last until mid January because I will be flying to the west coast to see more family. What fun!

  11. That’s a nice positive post I loved the quote you wrote. Looks like your going to end 2017 the most positive and with love. Here I don’t know what we are going to do he usually día family dinner and that’s it

  12. This is a strange December for me. My cousin has been in the hospital and rehab, back and forth, after 3 separate strokes. She cannot move her whole right side, although she has gotten a small bit of movement back in her right foot and leg, and she is receiving dialysis several times each week. Not much family nearby. Several parties to add some cheer, but my overall mood has been sad – watching my cousin in this helpless mode. My prayers for the month are to see her movement start returning and see her up and about.
Just got a new printer, new computer, new computer stand, new web cam – so much to handle and get working and learn. My goal is to clean up some web site stuff and get myself organized to do more live speaking events – and create my own live event – in 2018.

    Warmly,
    Dr. Erica

    1. I am saddened to hear about your cousin and hopeful for some relief for her. It is probably good that you have some distractions. I am here for you if you need anything. I also look forward to hearing more about your live event.

  13. The first part of this month is all work for me as I wrap up projects, but I’m taking from Dec 20 to Jan 7 off so I’ll be in full rejuvenation mode during that time and I have my bubble bath, stack of books and a couple of good bottles of wine all ready to go!

  14. December has become more of a hibernation period for me. It’s the time I take to rest an reflect on the year, as well as to set new goals for the upcoming one. Wishing you and yours a beautiful holiday season!

  15. We had a great time at your home. My December
is very busy doing charity work with The Sunshine
Committee. Having family for a Hanukkah Dinner.
Parties and being on the New Years committee.
