Do you feel like you’re constantly on the go and don’t have time for yourself? If so, it’s time to create a peaceful oasis right in your own home. A place where you can relax and rejuvenate, without any stress or distractions. Follow these simple tips and you’ll be on your way to creating your very own home sweet home!

1) Start by decluttering

Decluttering is one of the best ways to make your home feel more peaceful and inviting. It involves clearing out unwanted items, sorting through what you need and don’t need, and organizing the space in a way that brings about a sense of relaxation. When decluttering, it’s important to have an overall plan for how you’d like the space to look and feel. This could include removing bulky furniture pieces, using storage bins to organize smaller items, or giving away items that no longer bring any joy into your life.

When starting the process of decluttering, it helps to take things one room at a time. Start by going through all the closets and cupboards in each room and getting rid of anything you know won’t be used or doesn’t fit with your vision for the space. It also helps to ask yourself questions like “Does this item bring me joy?” or “Will this item help me achieve my goals?”. This can help make decisions easier when deciding what should stay and what should go.

Once all the unnecessary items have been removed from each room, it’s time to start organizing the remaining items into proper storage locations. This could mean purchasing storage containers such as baskets or bins, that make sorting small items easier. Similarly, furniture can be used to divide up spaces within rooms for additional organization purposes.

2) Create a cozy atmosphere

After decluttering, the next step is to turn your home into a place of comfort and peace. This can be done by introducing cozy elements such as soft lighting, comfortable furniture pieces, natural greenery, and inviting colors. Soft lighting can help create a calming atmosphere in any room of your home by replacing bright overhead lights with lamps or wall sconces.

Furniture such as couches, armchairs, and ottomans provide extra seating while also creating an inviting space for relaxation. Adding natural elements like plants or flowers along with Jo Malone Dupe candles brings life into the space while helping to reduce stress levels. Finally, using warm colors on walls or accent pieces helps add coziness to the environment.

3) Incorporate calming sounds

The last step in creating a peaceful home is to incorporate calming sounds. This could include playing soothing music, running a fan or white noise machine, or even setting up a water fountain inside your home. All of these sounds help create an atmosphere of relaxation and can be used in whatever combination best suits your needs.

Creating a peaceful oasis at home doesn’t have to be difficult. With just a few simple steps, you can transform any environment into one that promotes rest and rejuvenation. So what are you waiting for? Start decluttering today and make a few simple adjustments to find out just how much of a difference it can make!

  1. Interesting. You get to feel soooo much better from just decluttering sometimes, from time to time. About the sounds, the best and the most loved sound that works extremely positively on me is the sound of the ocean 🙂 Love your site.

  2. Decluttering is part of what we do on a regular basis and especially when we moved (16 years in our previous home) some 5 months ago and into a smaller area (basement suite).

I am so happy that we have taken the time to sort through each and every closet, got rid of tons of stuff and furniture as we had to downsize dramatically and its now a way more friendly and suitable place for us.
