November 18: Yun Yun

My children grandmother aka Yun Yun aka their father’s mother has arrived for a visit.

The kids did not get to see her until after school. My husband went off to work and my mother-in-law and I had a quiet morning at home followed by lunch and some shopping. I found her to be pretty funny.

When we arrived at school to pick up my boys she was so very excited to see them.

As we were speaking, she saw my oldest out of the corner of her eye. It was obvious as a huge smile went across her face and she screamed his name. All of this was followed with an exclamation of, “Oh, so big !”  She saw my youngest son just moments after and again exclaimed, “Oh, so big !”  You see my boys are much taller than the last time she saw them. They are now 5′ 10″ and 5″ 11″. She is only 5′ 1″ which makes it quite funny to see them next to her.

She shares with me that my father-in-law very much wanted to come and visit the family.

He would ask the doctor for permission at every appointment. However, the doctor told him that he first needed to be able to walk around the block.

Upon the return of my daughter, I see that my mother-in-law is very happy to have her California grandchildren surrounding her.

There are no Thanksgiving plans, or preparations, made today. There is much happiness. I need to really bust out alot of Thanksgiving work tomorrow.
