Love Your Spouse & Anniversary Wishes For Mine

The National Longitudinal Mortality Study has found that people in a happy marriage live longer and have a lower risk of cancer.

On this day 23 years ago I married the man that I love.

The Mr. and I met 32 years ago, on my driveway. That is not an especially romantic meeting spot but it is where this wonderful journey of love began.

In our relationship we have grown together in many ways, including growing up. We began as friends, eventually started dating, then got married and have had three beautiful babies together.

This is not to say that we have never had any difficult times. All epic love affairs do. What it means is that through easy times and hard times we recognize the fact that to have a great relationship takes work, understanding and patience.

For these last days I have been participating in a “Love Your Spouse” challenge.

I have chosen to participate for a few reasons. Two of those reasons:

  1. We need more LOVE in this world.
  2. Having healthy relationships is an integral part of having a rich and fulfilled life.

However, I feel that this challenge should be expanded and allow for the sharing of memories of anyone that you hold these special feelings for. Whether it be a spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, child, friend or anyone else.

A few of the photos that I have shared thus far:

This photo is of us visiting Devon's work in Seqouia National Park over July 4th weekend. We had a great family weekend with all three kids.

Camp Pendleton Mud Run. A fun adventure for the whole Ho family.

I am so proud of the life that we have created in these 23 years of marriage. The love that he expresses to me, as indicated by this Facebook post, makes me feel cherished and appreciated.

Happy Anniversary and a love message

It is in this that I want to point out that it is so important to express love, appreciation and even feelings of gratitude. These words from your heart mean the world to those people who are important to you.  I know they meant the world to me. We all want to feel loved and we all want to hear those words.

I will continue to post my Love your Spouse challenge photos on my Facebook page. It would be great for you to participate with photos of your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, child, friend or anyone else.

In the meantime, I will close with this message to my spouse:

Honey, I am thrilled for the life we have together. I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together. I appreciate all that you do and all that your love and support has allowed for me to do. You are very loved.

  1. Hi Elise,

What a beautiful share! We all need to recognize our spouse and to honor them. It is so wonderful that you are doing a Facebook Love Your Spouse Challenge .. I have seen a few and it is great.

Love starts between two people, then a family and from there it spreads.

I have to say I had a good chuckle with the picture of the Ho family Ho Ho HO lol.
