Notes

This guacamole recipe is full of goodness and if one chooses to go organic then it is that much better.

Avocado provides heart-healthy monounsaturated fat. This monounsaturated fat is actually what provides most of the calories for this dish. Monounsaturated fat has been shown to help decrease your LDL cholesterol, or what is typically referred to as “bad cholesterol.” Additionally, monounsaturated fat may actually raise your “good cholesterol.”

Avocado also contains soluble and insoluble fiber. This helps with things such as appetite control and bowel cleansing. Additionally, avocado provides Vitamins B, K and E. These will help with metabolic function, bone health, and skin health.

The other ingredients in guacamole provide benefits such as reduction in toxicity in the bladder and kidneys. They can assist with fighting congestion and help to ward off cancer.

A word of caution if you enjoy your guacamole with chips. Accordingly, chips will provide extra calories, salt and no health benefit whatsoever. In my opinion, you are much better off with carrot or celery sticks, sliced peppers or a healthy raw cracker.

Have a fiesta of a day!

  2. Sounds like a great recipe. I love guacamole but avocados are so expensive here in BC. Guess coming all the way from Mexico adds to the price. When I was little we had an avocado tree in our back yard (near Los Angeles then). Even though it was started from a seed it did bear fairly nice sized avocados. Back then I didn’t really like them, now I wish we could have a tree like that. – Margy

  6. Hello Mamma,

It so great your support your son :). I love avocados, sadly very difficult to come by here in Singapore. Ps: the video is very funny.

  7. Now I’m so craving avocados!!! The video was super kewl albeit hard for us ADHD types to sit still that long! 😉 … I loved the tip about putting lime in microwave for 15 secs before squeeze. Never heard that and yes it would be lovely to get every single yummy drop out of those little suckers!
Hmm, I may have to go to the store tonight.
