This is certainly a great weekend to talk about foods for better sex…
So let’s not waste anytime…
Chocolate
There is a certain logic to this particular food being in the Valentine’s Day lineup. The aroma helps to heighten your senses and dark chocolate (the healthiest chocolate) increases dopamine which is a pleasure pathway that helps to boost your interest in a reward…Can anyone say orgasm?
Strawberries
This beautiful fruit does not just look like Valentine’s Day in a sweet little package the vitamin C helps to keep blood flowing to ALL the body parts.
Chili Peppers
These stimulate endorphins which helps people to feel happier which certainly makes people feel more in the mood for great sex. They also can speed up heart rate and make you sweat which are both things that a really good sex session does too.
Banana
Okay, keep your mind where it belongs I know it looks like a phallic symbol but that is not where I was going here. The vitamin B and potassium found in this fruit help to increase energy levels. The bromelain will also increase the production of testosterone which, of course, also helps to fuel sex drive.
Figs
The seeds in this Garden of Eden food are symbols of fertility, the fruit is sexy to eat, and then there is that fig leaf. The fig leaf is a symbol of modesty or the forbidden. That might just be enough to do it for you.
Watermelon
Science Daily reports that watermelon may have an effect similar to Viagra in that it relaxes blood vessels and improves circulation.

Oysters
This is, of course, a very well known aphrodisiac and absolutely does have a few things going for it. For one if eaten correctly some may find it sexy. But on a more practical note these mollusks are high in zinc. Men lose one to three milligrams of zinc per ejaculation so it is thought that the extra zinc boost helps with a faster recovery. They are also rich in sex hormone boosting amino acids. Oysters have the most effect in the Spring but they are pretty good for some winter loving too. 😉
These are just a few sexy foods for better sex. There are definitely other foods for better sex, some are sexy, and some are not. These include pomegranate, red wine, nuts, pumpkin seeds, artichokes, cherries and vanilla bean.
Now you may not believe that food can affect your desire but why not give it a try and see what happens?
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hi Dr. Elise,
Here’s to some ‘winter loving’!
With the exception of oysters, your list are all foods we enjoy regularly.
Neither my wife or I like the grittiness, or texture, of oysters, although I sometimes snack on a tin of them.
Great timing and a great example of tongue in cheek writing. Thanks,
Edward
Thank you, Edward. I so appreciate all of your comments.
