Is Heavy Metals Toxicity A Primary Cause of Disease?
Heavy Metal Toxicity, or heavy metal poisoning, refers to the accumulation of toxic amounts of heavy metals in the soft tissues of the body.
Every day, people regain their health in some part through detoxifying from these heavy metals.
The connection between toxins and disease is UNDISPUTED.
They are everywhere: food, water, air, household products.
+ Do you know someone who smokes cigarettes? Are they detoxing the cadmium and other metals ingested from cigarette smoking?
+ Do you know someone on the autism spectrum? Have they undergone an aluminum detox and seen improvements in speech and function?
+ Do you know how much mercury is in your body? EVERYONE has some level of this toxic element inside their bodies.
[ctt template=”8″ link=”mGraw” via=”no” nofollow=”yes”]Without a heavy metals detox, most people will not meet their health goals.[/ctt]
Toxic metals such as Mercury, Aluminum, Cadmium, Arsenic, Lead, and Nickel can contribute to many diseases. According to Dr. Mercola these include Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other brain and neurological disorders.
A 2004 study by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that blood samples from newborns contained an average of 287 toxins, including mercury, fire retardants, pesticides and chemicals in non-stick cookware.
So how do you know if you are suffering from toxicity caused by Heavy Metals?
Indications can include:
- Nausea
- Sweating
- Headache
- Difficulty breathing
- Impaired cognitive, motor and language skills
- Fatigue
- Digestive distress
- Aching joints
- Depression
- menstrual difficulties
- infertility
- premature birth
Guidelines for Reducing Your Heavy Metals Exposure
- Avoid aluminum based cosmetics
- Avoid smoking and second-hand smoke
- Use natural cleaning products
- Use glass, cast iron, carbon steel, titanium, and enamel cookware.
- Avoid fish high in mercury.

This was an interesting read – I have never heard about detoxing from metals before, but what you’re saying makes total sense. I am not a smoker, so don’t have to worry about the cadmium you’ve mentioned – but some of the other examples are interesting x
The fact that you are not a smoker is a very big plus.
Terrific information about toxic metal buildup in our body and how it affects our health. The summit sounds exciting. Thanks for the share.
Edward
Ed, it is something that I am sure you would enjoy.
Hi Elise ho mam, Great information. Very few people have knowledge about these type of heavy metals in our body. Thanks for sharing
Interesting read and deffo something to think about particularly with cleaning products.
Apologies, we read this headline as ‘heavy metal’ ‘toxicity’ as in the heavy metal band System of a Down and their song. Could help but chuckle. However it is food for thought and we sometimes wonder is metals are poisoning our environment x
I had no idea that there was a band of that name 🙂
As a tinnitus and also a tmjd sufferer i have long been interested in the possible toxic effect of metals. This is really interesting – thank you.
You are very welcome
I love fish and have been considering becoming pescatarian but I’m afraid of consuming too much fish with metals in it!
I hear you on that one. It is something you really do need to be aware of.
I’ve read a little about this recently. We’re in the process of having our kitchen refitted and replacing pans etc. I’ll definitely consider your advice when choosing products
How fun to be refitting the kitchen. There are so many great options out there.
Wow this is such an interesting post – I’m always suffering from fatigue it seems but I’d never thought it could be something like this. Definitely something I’ll look into xo
Oh, I am very hopeful that this info is exactly what you were looking for.
Not heard this before and so much information on the topic. Deffo food for thought for sure x
Happy Chewing.
This is a great post to raise awareness, some great tips and advice to avoid heavy metal toxicity.
Avoiding heavy metals can really be of service to your body.
What an interesting post. I find myself tired quite a lot, which I just put down to being slightly anaemic. But, you never know!
I would definitely get tested for anemia AND look into heavy metals toxicity. No stone left unturned, right?
Great article, Elise. I practice very low toxicity into my lifestyle. It is always good to recheck and make sure for me personally if there is something more I can do. I am slowly transitioning my cosmetics over to vegan and no mercury products.
This is a really interesting post. I have been trying to limit my exposure to metals for these reasons after hearing my cousin talking about it
I love that your cousin was talking about it. When we talk about these issues we can make a real difference.
Wow, I’d never even heard of this before! I’m determined to live a healthier lifestyle this year so will be looking into this. Thank you!
If living a healthier life is on your #smartgol list tuning into this will definitely be a great step forward.
Thanks for sharing, I didn’t know that most of these symptoms were for heavy metal toxicity x
That’s really interesting. I have a lot of fatigue and I’d be interested in finding out if heavy metals were a contriburing factor.
It is a really good thing to look into 🙂
This sounds great. I’ve not heard of this before thanks for posting.
I’ve never heard of heavy metal poising before, however this post is great for informing people of it and the ways to avoid it, and I am pretty sure none of the things on list apply to me! Thank gosh. Thanks for raising awareness x
That is wonderful that none apply to you. Here is to good health!
I don’t think I’ve heard of heavy metal poisoning! I’m definitely on the road to living a cleaner lifestyle though, with natural cleaning and cosmetic products. It’s scary the damage we can cause just by using every day items.
You are doing great. You will also learn some other things that are super easy that you can do to further protect your health.
It’s astonishing how many things around us can hurt our health! I had no idea about heavy metals or that all of us have a quantity of mercury in our bodies.
That is why I love to tell people all about the things I learned over the years. We all need to know.
Thanks for sharing your post, we need to look into this deeply especially since our resolution this year is to eat more healthily and lead a better life.
You should definitely sign up for the telesummit. It sounds perfect for you.
Elise, I have a relative who is on the autism spectrum. I will speak with his mom about the aluminum detox. Thanks for the info.
This is such an informative post with great tips. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure
My mother’s old fillings caused her HM poisoning. It took lots of dental work and blood work with meds to rid them.
Tony Robbins also suffered from it. Thought he was going crazy!
It is truly serious stuff. Everyone should be aware of heavy metal poisoning.
What a fascinating topic. I just read an article about a town in the midwest where the people had been suffering for years from the effects of chemicals in the water. I’ve never suffered from any of the symptoms you described, but I have always been cautious about the types of products I use and food I eat. Definitely, an issue we all need to be aware of. Thanks!
You have done yourself a great service by being steadfast in your pursuit of health.
My husband loves blue cheese so I will be making this for him. Thanks Elise for sharing with us at #BloggersPitStop and have a great 2018!
Thanks for the tips. My mom has always been concerned about consuming aluminum. She never let me wear certain deodorant. My friends used to laugh, but now I’m glad that I listened.
It was brilliant of your mom and perfect that you listened.
Awesome work. This is partly why I chose my work helping families avoid toxins in their home life.
I love that. There are so many natural things we can do.
Around age 60 I noticed that my handwriting was getting smaller and I was writing faster. I also noticed a small tremor in my right hand. The doctor went over my different symptoms and he suspected I’d either had a small stroke or the beginnings of Parkinson ‘s disease. After finding a neurologist and some testing I was diagnosed with the beginning stages of Parkinson’s disease. That was 4 years ago. I take Sinimet four times a day to control my symptoms, which include falling, imbalance, gait problems, swallowing difficulties, and slurring of speech,This year, our family doctor started me on Mbeki Herbal Clinic Parkinson’s Disease Herbal mixture, 5 weeks into treatment I improved dramatically. At the end of the full treatment course, the disease is totally under control. No case of dementia, hallucination, weakness, muscle pain or tremors.
Visit Mbeki Herbal Clinic official website ww w.mbekiherbalclinic .com. I am strong again and able to go about daily activities. This Herbal Formula is Incredible!!
Wow. This is fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with my readers.
Great article – I always try to be conscious of heavy metal toxicity, and follow many of these guidelines. We switched over from non-stick coated to ceramic cookware for this reason. Both my mother and mother in-law died of Alzheimer’s, so we are doing whatever we can to avoid that fate!
This is wonderful information. I have often felt that heavy metal toxicity could have a huge impact on my thyroid health. I have struggled with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis for years and follow a very clean lifestyle. The summit sounds like a terrific resource for information.
The summit sounds as if it would be absolutely perfect for you.
