Dessert Inspired Breakfast Smoothie

10 day detox diet weight loss

This Dessert Inspired Breakfast Smoothie is actually the Cocoa-Almond Smoothie from my colleague Dr. Mark Hyman.

It is featured in the 10 Day Detox Diet program.

Today Dr. Hyman and I are sharing this smoothie because a dessert inspired breakfast is AWESOME!

[ctt template=”5″ link=”WU9aa” via=”yes” ]The Cocoa-Almond Smoothie serves one and has the perfect energy combination of protein and healthy fats. [/ctt]

Ingredients:

2 or 3 large ice cubes

1 1⁄4 cups unsweetened almond milk

2 tablespoons unsalted, no sugar added almond butter

1 tablespoon chia seeds

2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions:

Step 1
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender (my choice is the Vitamix) and blend on high speed until smooth. If you prefer your smoothie thinner simply add a bit more water until desired consistency is reached.

Step 2
Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

  1. I have to give this a try! It’s healthy and comes in my favorite flavor, Chocolate! The ingredients are pretty easy to source.

  2. It sounds yummy, but even as a chocoholic I wouldn’t fancy chocolate for breakfast. However….. that wouldn’t stop me trying this cocoa based smoothie at some other time.

I wonder what it would be like with rice milk instead of almond milk?
