Christopher Veal, The Daditude Coach
When Christopher Veal first learned that he was going to become a dad he struggled to identify what his role as a parent really meant for him.
I’m a dad to one daughter and an Organizational Development professional. I work as an OD & Training Manager for the Orange County Fire Authority.
What I’ve learned is that parenting is truly about being present and engaged.
My newfound passion for being an active dad led me to create a dad’s life coaching service Daditude.
[ctt template=”5″ link=”NO8U5″ via=”no” nofollow=”yes”]My mission is to coach and inspire dads to craft their own legacies; create meaningful impact in the world and the lives of their children.[/ctt]
I enjoy riding motorcycles, listening to music, reading, discovering new things to learn, mountain biking, and indulging in my newest hobby flying drones.
What I do well as a dad.
I’m mindful of giving my daughter all the attention she deserves and don’t allow technology and other projects to distract me.
What I learned from another dad.
Presence is exponentially more impactful than presents.
A lesson learned from my child.
Ask lots of questions. Particularly when you think you already have the answer; you’ll be surprised at the things a dad can learn.
A successful fatherhood moment.
The first few weeks after our daughter came home from the hospital were instrumental in my confidence as a father. My wife had a C-section, and the majority of work in caring for our daughter (and my wife) fell on my shoulders. It really helped me step up and more fully embrace my role as a father. I believe it’s one of the primary reasons that helped my daughter and I create such a strong bond.
Dad I admire.
My best friend, Dave. He has lived several states away from his daughter for a number of years and never lets that get in the way of being engaged and involved in her life. They have an extremely close and loving relationship as a result, and he inspires me to be the best dad I can be each day.

Awwwwww love this!!! Parenting is definitely a joy. I think we all struggle at first trying to figure out what exactly our role is.
It is definitely about learning a new skill set.
“Presence is exponentially more impactful than presents.” Could not be said any better! Christopher Veal is inspirational and spot on.
He is a pretty smart guy.
Being present and engaged is very important .A very inspiring dad indeed.Loved this.
Thank you for being here.
I love that you mentioned that, time spent with your kids is much more important than presents. I don’t remember what presents I got, but I do remember all the times I had spent with my dad. He’s my biggest supporter, I remember all the times we spent laughing and that’s the most beautiful thing he could give me. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing a bit about your life.
Such a heart warming post! Children are our future and a true gift from God. I really love his commitment to not just be present but to engage.
Yes, me too. It is inspirational and something I am so excited to share.
What a very inspiring post from a dad! I usually read posts like this from moms and it is amazing to see how dedicated and passionate you are.
Thank you. I have a mom series too but I want to also feature the dads. The awesome dads are simply not highlighted often enough. I have over 100 dads to introduce you all too. I am so excited.
Great seeing dads like this out there
I would love to get you in on this or my entrepreneur series, or even both. 🙂
I am blessed to have a husband that’s the best dad our daughter could ever have! She has his undivided attention and care and we are all very happy!
That warms my heart. Thank you for sharing.
This is such a nice story. Being a father is really something wonderful and scary at the same time but being a father is a gift from God.
I agree on all counts. Parenthood is such a gift, so wonderful and also so scary.
This is great. I really like when dads are present in their child’s life. Even though we got divorced, my ex-husband has been an AH-MAZING dad. Always present and super responsible.
I love to hear stories such as that. IT is the way that it should be and, thankfully, there are many stories like that. Sadly, there are also many that are not.
What an inspirational post, yes a parent is all about engaging with kids. I’m sure so many dad’s can really learn from this post to give quality time to their kids and engage with them.
I think that Christopher has wonderful lessons to teach.
This is such a sweet post! My kids make my proud, that’s for sure. It is important to stay present!
Yes, that makes a huge difference in everyone’s lives.
Great post! Such a great inspiration of what a father should be like to their children. I wish especially young men could read and learn so that they have a head start when they become dads. I wish I could get involved in such a program as it is one I think would have a good influence on the world.
This is exactly why I want to do these types of features regularly. There is so much to learn from other parents and so much wonderful inspiration.
Great post! I love the quote at the end t is one of my favorites!
I am so pleased that you enjoyed it.
So many people need to take parenting more serious. More time will never be regretted.
I 100% agree.
