Desperate Mama Angela Bellon.

Desperate Mama Angela Bellon is the mom of a daughter and wife to husband, Alessandro.

In today’s feature, we learn a bit about what is behind the name.

I used to work as an assistant branch manager but now I work from home as a blogger (at Desperate Mamas) with my partner Tamara Mendiola.  We write about motherhood topics and share the Good, the Bad and Desperate moments we experience as parents.

I was born and raised in Italy where I went to art school and learned to express my creativity in various forms. My absolute favorite way of expressing my creativity is painting and event decorating. I love to entertain and cook for my family and friends, and my signature dish is mushroom risotto.

What I do well as a mom.

I do a good job to establish rules and disciplining my child. It is my belief that rules will build self-confidence in my child. I feel I do it without being unfair while giving her a strong foundation to grow her personality, passions, and creativity while being in a safe environment.  I also do a good job to nurture and satisfy her curiosity.

What I learned from another mom:

My partner Tamara taught me how to be patient with my child. Give her the time and floor space to experiment and learn how to accomplish tasks. After all, it takes few minutes to clean up, but the messy memories will last forever.

Lesson learned from my child.

Don’t take life too seriously and smile more often. No matter what happens there is always a brighter side to life. Learn to laugh at the good experiences of parenting and not frown at the challenges that come with being a parent.

Successful motherhood moment:

Sleep time has always been an issue with my little one. So when she reached an appropriate age and the doctor gave us the go-ahead we started teaching her how to fall asleep on her own. It was difficult at first and I must say heartbreaking to hear her cry, but my husband and I worked really hard on it.

Because of this effort, she’s not only able to fall asleep on her own, but she also sleeps longer.

Mom I admire.

My mother-in-law. Adele. I have never seen anybody being so devoted to someone like she is with her two sons. I admire her strength and determination, which shaped her sons to be the successful men they are today.

Who do you most admire?

  1. The part about kids teaching us not to like life too seriously really resonates with me. I learn so much from both my children on a daily basis – it’s astounding. Just when we think we have all the answers, we become mothers and realize that we really have no idea what we’re doing!!

  2. You sound like a very good parent and you have a very balanced way of bringing up your little one.Parenting is always very hard and no two kids are the same so we need to parent according to how it suits our kids individually.

  3. Life certainly becomes a lot easier when you crack the sleep schedule, doesn’t it? We religiously made our two have naps, morning and afternoon and used to put them in their nightwear in their cots so they could sleep properly. We’ve never had any problem since. I also wish I could paint – what a great skill to have.

  4. It must be so tough being a mom especially when they cry and or are hurt. I don’t have children just dogs which are my babies and I cannot stand when they are hurt or sick.
Angela seems to be an amazing mom especially implementing boundaries to ensure confidence in her daughter.

  5. I love getting to know the person behind the blog! Actually, I think I want to take this format, and reflect on my own mommy-dom for awhile. Very thought provoking! My late grandmother inspires me – she survived way too much, but remained humble and served everyone else, while keeping her sarcastic personality. Thanks for the fun interview!

  6. Nice And Very useful info,
This article important and really good the for me is.Keep it up and thanks to the writer.Amazing write-up,Great article. Thanks!
    used to really good
your info is quite helpful to forever.

  7. Angela sounds like she is very appreciative to be a mom, and she revels in the role. Good for you, Angela! 🙂 And Kudos to you for standing strong even in the face of your daughter’s tears as you and your husband taught her to fall asleep on her own. I don’t have little ones, but I can imagine the process as being one of frustration and likely where YOU would want to cry.
