Deep Cleaning Your Mind and Body

Sometimes you need a good deep clean. With so many stress factors in the world and not being able to eat healthy all the time, our bodies can get cluttered. Not just our minds either, but our whole being. Our minds and bodies are interconnected and what happens to one happens to the other. Here are a few ways you can deep clean your mind and your body through mindfulness and useful detoxes.

Turn Off Your Screens

All the light, all the stimulus, all of it is unnecessary. By turning off your screens you are able to give your mind a rest from all the rush of information and entertainment targeting your brain. From pop-up ads to videos and TV shows, your mind starts to get fuzzy from all the noise. Take time every day to silence your life and sit in the quiet to restart and recenter your mind. Twenty to thirty minutes of this daily is a great remedy for a mind that just won’t stop turning.

Yoga and Meditation

Everyone knows that taking time to meditate or stretch your muscles with yoga is a game-changer for a lot of people. The sad reality is that many people don’t take the time out of their day to do these things. When you take the time to turn off those screens, spend that time meditating. I know what you’ll say: you can’t quiet your mind just like that. That’s the beauty of meditation. You simply let everything run through your mind until your mind settles down. It is then that you can start to hear and feel the quiet. The same goes for yoga. While in poses concentrate on your body and your strength and soon your mind will feel balanced.

How’s Your Gut?

A lot of people feel out of sorts all the time, and believe it or not, it can come from your gut. An unhealthy diet can contribute to a gut that just seems to always be uncomfortable. Eating clean foods like raw vegetables, lean meats, oats, and grains will help your digestive system cleanout. There are also detoxes you can find online that can help clean out your stomach. In certain situations, you may have parasites in your body that need to get out. A parasite cleanse detox could just be what you need to truly give your insides a deep clean.

Excellent Oral Hygiene

For just a few dollars at the drugstore, you can buy a tongue scraper. Scraping your tongue in the morning helps take away debris and germs that are in your mouth that may be making you sick. Pair this with great oral hygiene and you will be set.

Deep Cleaning Your Mind and Body

Many adults don’t realize how many germs live between their teeth. Floss daily to remove germs and brush your teeth twice a day to keep your mouth fresh. Germs that live in your mouth are eventually swallowed through spit or food and that bacteria will run wild through your system.

  1. When your mind brims over with stressful thoughts, it’s not always easy to sort through them and determine what’s causing the most distress. I always make a journal, it will help me to find out what is making my thoughts down.

  2. I definitely needed to reminder. My screen time has increased 1000% so it’s certainly time for a detox.

  3. Turning off the screen is so vital! We don’t realize how much it influences and impacts our life and hormones. I need to do this more often.
